Job Description:
Title: Registered Nurse, Med/Surg/Tele
Type: local contract
Hours: Friday to Sunday, 7pm to 7am
Location: Camden, NJ
Dates: July 7 to October 3, 2026
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MST) team. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level I Trauma environment and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to manage complex medical and telemetry patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients within a Medical/Surgical Telemetry setting
- Monitor, assess, and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based nursing interventions
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with hospital policies
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care
- Recognize and respond to emergent situations and changes in patient status
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes within the EMR
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge planning, and disease management
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, quality, and patient safety standards
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey
- Minimum 3 years of recent Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MST) RN experience in a busy Level I Trauma facility
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume acute care environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-acuity patient populations
- Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
- Previous experience with EPIC or comparable EMR systems
